Heritage Collection - Blue Mason Jars - Limited supply!

If you're into DIY projects or have ever wasted time on pintrest, you've probably not missed this versatile  piece of glass. I'm talking about mason jars. Everyone loves them and when it comes to desirability - the older, the better.

Blue mason jars are the rarest. And with the 2013 limited-edition jar - Ball is keeping it that way.

2013 is the 100th anniversary of the first Ball canning jar of 1913.

Designed by the Ball brothers, each jar was intended to be better than the one before. The launch of the first true "Perfect Mason" jar was in1913.

Ball has stopped manufacturing these blue jars. Once they are sold out, that's all we're ever going to get. up and coming limited edition jar?

But! you can buy them from Red Hill General Store for $9.99!

Canning Jar Luminaries

While browsing on the blogsphere we came across an amazing project by Liz Taylor at Project Naptime.  She made some amazing Luminaries for Valentine's Day out of jars. They appear to be typical canning jars (also called mason jars by many).

Here is what Liz's project looks like:

And this is how Liz created them: (for more photos on how she did this please visit Liz's Valentine Luminaries Blog)

Supplies:
jars
mod podge
brush
tissue paper
card stock to make shapes

1.) Simply mod podge your jars and wrap in tissue paper. Let sit a few hours or over night.
2.) Place card stock on jar and mod podge the whole jar again. This gives it a nice coating.
3.) Place a string of white lights inside and wait for evening for beautiful Valentine luminaries.

Liz- Thank you so much for letting us feature your amazing project on our blog!
